#blahvsfood goes to Plats, Delhi
I went to the much spoken about Plats in Delhi and came away suitably impressed. Clean cooking, beautiful plating, great service. A restaurant with a very clear identity and sense of what it is and what it wishes to be.
I do think they should go easy on the broccoli and I feel that could up the intensity of flavour in some of the meat dishes by one notch. The chorizo dumplings for example could do with the intensity of Goan rather than Spanish Chorizo in the sauce. Or the shrimp and chicken stuffed wings could be marinated in that delightful sauce before stuffing and cooking. It’s not that I don’t like subtlety (considering I love Masque) but it’s just that this menu lends itself so well to big bold flavours combined with superlative technical cooking. When they do push the flavour profile, like in the must try forest mushroom truffle linguine or the stuffed portobello, the results are lip smacking.
But these are minor quibbles, if that. This is a great new restaurant, very unpretentious, making great food and packed to the rafters. I loved it and once they start serving alcohol this place will single handedly transform Malviya Nagar and make it a buzzing locality for F and B.
