I actually don’t have a ranking for non-fiction this year. 4 wonderful books. Patriots and Partisans is a MUST read for every Indian just like India After Gandhi. Black Hawk Down is every bit as gripping as the movie. When a Crocodile eats the Sun is a heartbreaking memoir about family and nationhood and the tragedy of Africa. While Vikram Seth makes China and Tibet so vivid and his writing is so evocative, you almost feel like you’re there hitchhiking with him
